Special Exhibition: Nihonto Collection of Alexander Trykolich

Collection presented for exhibition by Alexander Trykolich and consisting of swords forged by representatives of such great schools as Sōshū, Ko-Bizen, Ko-Aoe, Kamakura Ichimonji.

In the process of creating a collection, an art lover is always driven by some kind of idea, some kind of motive. Otherwise, it will not be different from making a muddle of things. Some collectors prefer to focus on a particular swordsmith school or province in their collection, while others collect swords of a particular master or period. This beautiful collection is built on the principle: one extra-class sword from each of the great swordsmith art schools. That is why, in this collection there are swords forged by representatives of such schools as Sōshū, Ko-Bizen, Ko-Aoe, Kamakura Ichimonji, Ko-Ichimonji and others. Therefore, after consulting with the owner of the collection, it was decided not to spray the exhibits across different sections of the website, but to create a holistic picture, providing appropriate links for more convenient navigation on the site.
